At Queensmead School we believe in creating opportunities beyond the curriculum. Whilst we are proud of our examination results, we know that those alone do not make for a well-rounded student.
We offer our students a broad mix of both academic and sporting clubs to involve themselves in. Extracurricular activities not only allow students to have fun and learn new skills but can also help them to develop both friendships and life skills relevant to their future careers.
With in excess of 30 extracurricular clubs running each week we expect that all of our students attend at least one club per week, in order to make as great a contribution to the school’s extra-curricular programme as they can.
Our Performing Arts department, comprised of Music and Drama, offers a wide range of extracurricular clubs. For our musicians, the department currently offers a vocal choir, songwriting and jam session clubs. For our budding actors, the department offers a weekly Drama club. Students of all abilities are welcome! The department also offers students the opportunity to use the well-equipped practise rooms and classroom stage areas, where they can rehearse and perform during break times. Performing in front of audiences is a key skill and our keen musicians and actors have the opportunity to perform at a variety of school events including assemblies, awards evenings and concerts. We offer one-to-one music tuition through Hillingdon Music Service. Currently guitar, piano, drum, violin, viola, clarinet and flute lessons are all being offered.
