Outreach in the Community
Our students are actively engaged with the local community, making a real difference through a variety of meaningful partnerships and initiatives.
They regularly visit Brackenbridge Care Home and Queens Walk Resource Centre, where they bring joy and companionship to residents while gaining valuable interpersonal and communication skills.
We offer various opportunities for students in local primary schools to visit us, such as Heathland School, Bourne School, Field End School and Deanesfield School, and experience some of the subjects that we offer at Key Stage 3. We have delivered sessions on Music, Drama, STEM, Science and Textiles.
Queensmead students who support these sessions not only inspire younger children, but also develop their own leadership, teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Our students also lead clubs, support academic activities and offer tutoring in surrounding primary schools. These experiences help them build confidence, empathy, and a sense of responsibility.
Additionally, we offer work experience opportunities in nearby nurseries, allowing students to explore career pathways in early years education and childcare.
Not only does this work benefit our local community, but, through all these opportunities, our students grow as responsible, compassionate leaders who are committed to giving back and making a positive impact, whilst also enhancing their own academic, social, and personal development.
