Languages Week ran from Monday 23rd to Friday 28th September. It was a successful event yet again, with Queensmead’s very own ‘Bake Off’ being the most attended event, especially among Year 7s. The range of activities on offer included some outstanding taster lessons in German, Mandarin and Tamil led by our amazing Modern Foreign Languages Ambassadors. Fun after school activities included a delicious ‘Bake Off’ judged by our Lead MFL Ambassadors, a unique calligraphy workshop and finally movies in Spanish and French.
The movies were watched by Year 7 students in class, alongside their peers, with a quiz to complete at the end. Congratulations to Sara, Year 7 who beat eleven other contestants to win the ‘Bake Off’. Sara received a well-deserved prize of Nando’s vouchers, with runners up receiving stationary and sweets respectively. All of the participants made stunningly appetizing foods, it was extremely hard to decide the winner.
A huge well done to all of the students who participated in the events, not only did they work hard but demonstrated all of the four Queensmead values, Respect, Kindness, Independence and Resilience.
