On Saturday 27th April, Queensmead Bronze DofE students completed a training day to prepare them for their assessed expedition coming up in May. Students were introduced to the vital navigation skills they will need on the expedition, and showed great confidence in using these skills and applying them practically.
They were then set a navigation challenge the challenge was to navigate from Mad Bess Woods in Ruislip to the Coy Carp in Harefield and then back to Mad Bess Woods. Each group had to lead sections of the route and ensure everyone in the team made it to the checkpoints. All groups successfully led and navigated to the checkpoints.
Next month students will be camping overnight and completing a two-day expedition in order to complete the expedition section of their award.
