On 21st and 22nd November, 50 Year 10 students took part in the Speakout Challenge workshop which is funded by Jack Petchey.
Students were taught the art of public speaking and then devised their own speeches on topics that they wanted to ‘speak out’ on. At the end of each session, students performed their speeches and the best from each day went head to head to fight it out to be the student to represent Queensmead in the regional finals.
The competition was tough but the students speech that came out on top was Adam’s speech, titled ‘It’s Ok to be Sad’. Adam will represent Queensmead on 5th December where he will present his speech to an audience of over 200 and a judging panel.
We wish Adam the best of luck in the regional finals.
